Important Facts
- If vision problems are not caught and treated early, long term decreased vision is possible.
- An eye exam is recommended every year for all children starting 6 months of age, and sooner if problems are suspected.
- Adults should have their eyes examined at least every 2 years.
- Screenings done at schools are just vision screenings and do not consider all aspects of visual function and eye health. Everyone needs a comprehensive eye exam by a doctor.
